No more sleepless nights!
I provide night care for your newborn as well as sleep
training techniques to be applied when putting your
baby to sleep each night so that your baby starts sleeping
for longer periods from the beginning, and many bad
habits will not be picked up.
As your nighttime baby nurse I work evening hours
to allow you some much-needed rest. No more sleepless nights or getting
up every 1 1/2 - 3 hours. This is really wonderful, especially for
parents of multiples. I usually sleep in the same or an adjoining room
to the nursery. I get up at every feeding to feed your little one or if
you are breastfeeding, I will wake baby, change her or him, and bring
baby to your bedroom for nursing. I will then burp, swaddle, and rock
your baby back to sleep.
To make the evening duty more comfortable I suggest
accommodations such as a bed, rocker, table, lamp,
T.V., a bathroom, food and beverages.
Night Baby Duties:
- Feeding, Soothing, and laying your baby back to
sleep
- Swaddling
- Changing
- Keeping Nursery Tidy
- Baby Laundry (If it doesn't bother anyone)
- Re-stocking Nursery
- Cleaning Bottles and Nursery Supplies
Availability:
- Schedules must be a Minimum of 8-12 Hours
- Minimum of 1 Week
- Out of State: 24/6 with 4 Hr Daily Break - 2, 3
or 4 Week Stay
Providing Mother Care and Emotional
Support during those early weeks of Postpartum recovery.
Mother care is the primary care here
As your postpartum doula, I act in a
supportive role during the adjustments experienced throughout the
postpartum period for new parents, their family and their infant.
Mother Care includes:
- Emotional Support
- Monitoring Visitation and Taking Calls
- Proper Rest and Guidance
- Overall Observation of Mother's Health
- Keeping an Informed Watch for Postpartum Depression
- New mommy massage before bedtime
Doula Services include:
- New Mommy Massage Before Bedtime - Head, Neck,
& Back
- Breast / Bottle Feeding Support
- Cord and Circumcision Care
- Demonstrate Newborn Care
- Lactation Support
- Concierge Shopping & Errand Services
- Baby Shopping
- Meal Preparation (up to 3 times per week)
- Sibling Care
- Accompany Parents to Pediatric Appointments
- Many other services to Assist New Parents

- Doulas are not an authority on all aspects of
newborn or mother care
- Doulas are not healthcare professionals
- Doulas are not maids or housecleaners

Added Platinum Service!
I provide the service of Pick-up
& delivery, running errands such as going to the pharmacy for meds,
buying groceries, and shopping at baby boutiques or stores to get much
needed items. I also will go through your registry or shop with you to
make a list of items for your shower, or to show you the better brands
of baby products. I educate new parents as to why certain products are
preferred or needed. I will also organize the nursery, as well as the
drawers and closest, so that when you arrive home from the hospital,
every baby item is in its proper location for easy access. You should
not have to ever leave your newborn to grab something.
Valerie offers in-home education
classes!
The classes are held at your
convenience in the privacy of your own home. You may include family
members and/or a nanny. You can learn about newborn tips, infant
massage, the importance of swaddling and how to swaddle your baby
according to "Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp, shopping
for newborn basics, etc. Please contact Valerie to schedule an
appointment.
